Seven-degree-of-freedom collaborative robot system combining an igus ReBeL cobot with a drylin ZLW-20200 belt-driven linear axis, delivering 1,500 mm reach, 2 kg payload, and 1.5 mm repeatability.
This system integrates an igus ReBeL cobot with a seventh-axis drylin ZLW-20200 belt-driven linear axis to create a 7-DOF collaborative robot.
The configuration delivers a 1,500 mm reach, 2 kg maximum payload, and 1.5 mm repeatability at speeds up to 0.3 m/s.
The seventh axis can be mounted overhead or horizontally and offers up to 3,000 mm stroke, extending total system reach up to 5,800 mm depending on configuration.
Control is managed through igus Robot Control with direct CAN bus integration, allowing the seventh axis to be synchronized with the robot as an external axis.
The system supports Modbus TCP/IP, ROS, CANopen, and digital I/O protocols.
Free software is included.
The drylin axis uses tribologically optimized plastics that require no lubrication, offering long service life and maintenance-free operation.
Typical applications include pick and place operations, quality inspection, machine tending, and handling across large parts or multiple stations.
The extended workspace makes the system suitable for small and medium manufacturing operations, logistics environments, and laboratory automation where reach and flexibility are required within collaborative safety standards.
