Apiro® Robotic kit
igus®
Modular robotic kit from igus featuring lubrication-free drygear Apiro components including worm gears, cantilever axes, and coupling elements for building custom automation systems.
The igus Apiro Robotic Kit (RL-A9.0200) is a modular system built around the drygear Apiro platform, offering lubrication-free worm gearboxes, cantilever axes, and coupling elements for constructing custom robotic configurations.
The kit enables users to assemble eight different robot kinematics and provides 1 mm repeatability.
The included gearboxes deliver minimal backlash of less than 0.5 degrees and are available in multiple gear ratios including 1:4, 1:32, and 1:64, with a rated lifetime exceeding 1 million cycles.
Integration is handled through the igus D1 dryve motor controller, which supports Modbus TCP and CANopen communication protocols along with digital and analog I/O options.
The system accepts NEMA 17 and NEMA 23 motors and accommodates encoders, brakes, and sensors.
This kit addresses applications in research facilities, educational institutions, prototyping environments, and startup operations where modular construction, cost-efficiency, and the ability to test multiple kinematic configurations are priorities.
