This igus linear seventh axis extends the working envelope of EPSON VT6 robots by mounting the robot on a horizontal linear motion system.
The unit increases available workspace by up to four times compared to the robot's native reach.
This 2,500 mm stroke configuration achieves repeatability of ±0.3 mm and operates at speeds up to 0.3 m/s, suitable for applications requiring extended material handling, welding, or assembly coverage along a production line.
The system integrates with EPSON robot software for coordinated motion control.
Kinematics are managed through the EPSON controller environment, though inverse kinematics are not integrated into the axis itself.
Stroke lengths up to 3,000 mm are available within the product line, with custom strokes available upon request.
Compatibility extends to EPSON T3, T6, and VT6 robot models.
This configuration excludes the energy chain system required for cable management along the stroke length.
Selection should account for the robot model, required stroke distance, and whether integrated kinematics control through the robot software meets application requirements.
