Linear axis extension designed for EPSON VT6 robots, delivering stroke lengths up to 3,000 mm with ±0.3 mm repeatability to expand effective workspace.
This igus 7th axis system extends the working envelope of EPSON VT6 robots by mounting the robot on a linear track, enabling coverage of significantly larger work areas without repositioning.
The system provides stroke lengths up to 3,000 mm with repeatable positioning to ±0.3 mm and travel speeds up to 0.3 m/s.
Custom stroke lengths are available upon request.
The 7th axis integrates with EPSON robot software, allowing kinematics control through the existing EPSON interface.
Control is managed via software without integrated inverse kinematics.
In addition to the VT6 series, this system is suitable for EPSON T3 and T6 robot models.
The unit ships without an e-chain, which must be sourced separately based on cable management requirements.
Typical applications include extended machine tending, multi-station material handling, and automated inspection tasks where a single robot must service multiple work zones.
The expanded workspace can multiply effective robot reach up to four times compared to a stationary installation.
